Ubiquitous Energy is creating the world's first transparent solar cells. This invention could really expand the reach of solar panel power. This could even lead to cellphones to no longer run on batteries and instead rely on this invisible solar cells.
Additionally, this could be used on skyscrapers and be places on their numerous windows. The worldwide famous company, Apple, recently announced that they will soon be buying solar power from First Solar, a developer of solar farms. This purchase will supply enough electricity to power all of Apple's California stores, offices, headquarters, and a data center. It's an $850 million agreement but it's a really big deal due to the fact that Apple will be given 130 megawatts of electricity. That's enough to power 60,000 California homes. It's time to take action and stop climate change.
This month Obama released the Clean Power Plan which aims to reduce carbon dioxide coming from power plants that have a great impact on climate change. The Clean Power Plan provides numerous options to cut carbon emissions. Options include investing on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and moving away from coal-fired power. Across the United States each state will be required to submit a plan by September 6, 2016 to state how they'll meet their target of reducing their carbon emissions.
